Reporting an error
Email our contact page with the page URL, the statement or figure you believe is wrong, and the source or inputs that show the problem. Calculation reports should include the engine version and assumptions shown under the result so we can reproduce it exactly.
How we classify corrections
| Type | Definition | How it is published |
|---|---|---|
| Correction | A factual, legal or numerical error | Corrected text plus a dated correction note on the page |
| Clarification | Accurate but capable of being misread | Revised wording plus a dated note where the meaning changed |
| Update | Rule, rate or figure changed after publication | Revised content and a new last-updated date |
| Calculation fix | An engine or methodology defect | Engine version increment, methodology note, and a note on affected pages |
Timing and records
- We acknowledge reports promptly and aim to resolve substantive errors quickly, prioritising anything that could affect a financial decision.
- We do not silently rewrite a substantive error: the correction note stays on the page.
- Every correction is logged with the date, the affected page, what changed and who approved it.
- Where a calculation defect affected results, we say which engine versions were affected.
